Careers & employability
Hospitality hires experience. You will have 18months of it.
Hotel groups do not recruit on coursework. They recruit on shifts you have actually worked. This degree builds 3 paid placements into the structure — so the experience exists before the interview does.

We do not have a placement percentage to show you
Most hotel school career pages open with a number. This one cannot, and would rather say so than round something up.
BHMS does not publish graduate employment statistics. Its own internships page renders an unfilled placeholder where a rate would sit. Since no primary source exists, no figure appears anywhere on this site — not a placement rate, not a starting salary, not a count of graduates or the countries they came from.
So this page argues from two things you can verify instead: structure — what the programme forces you to do before it will graduate you — and accreditation — who has independently examined the school and signed off.
What that means in practice
Every claim below is either something BHMS states in writing or something you can check with an external body. Where a number would make the argument sound better but no source supports it, the number is simply absent. That gap is deliberate. A career page that invents its outcomes is the one you should worry about.
The real argument
A degree that manufactures a CV
A conventional three-year degree produces a transcript and, if you organised it yourself, perhaps a summer or two of work. This one produces 18 months of paid employment at real hospitality businesses, because it will not let you graduate otherwise.
3 compulsory six-month placements sit between the academic semesters. You are on a payroll, in an operating hotel or hospitality business, doing the work — not shadowing it. By graduation the operational experience section of your CV is already written, and written by employers rather than by you.
That is the whole employability case, and it does not need a percentage to stand up. See how the alternating semesters actually run on the internships page, or the full structure on the bachelor programme page.
Who is on the other side
The employers, stated honestly
BHMS displays more than 40 employer logos on its internships page. Five of them are confirmed by name — and five is all this site will name.
Named and confirmed
- Accor
- Four Seasons
- Hilton
- Kempinski
- Mandarin Oriental
BHMS publishes neither a complete named partner list nor an exact partner count. The list above is therefore confirmed, not exhaustive — the real network is wider than five names, and this page will not pretend to know its shape.
Relationships, not job boards
Placement partnerships in this industry are built over years of sending students who turn up and perform. One partner puts the timescale plainly:
“BHMS has been our trusted recruitment partner for over two decades.”

Switzerland and worldwide
Placements are available in Switzerland and internationally. Inside Switzerland, BHMS states that your options depend very much on your German, French or Italian — which makes the language modules a career decision rather than an academic one.

What independent bodies say
BHMS ranks #12 globally in Hospitality & Leisure Management in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. On the reason for the rise, BHMS attributes it to “significantly increased reputation scores, particularly stronger recognition by employers”.
That is a quotation from BHMS about a movement in a subject ranking. It is not an employer-reputation rank, and this site does not convert it into one.
BHMS also holds a QS 5-star institution rating, listed on its accreditations page. BHMS does not state the rating year, so neither does this page.
The degree itself is dual-awarded with Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen (UK). That is what makes the qualification legible to an employer in London, Dubai or Singapore who has never heard of a Swiss private school.

The money side
Career support is in the fee. So is the payslip.
Placement support is not an add-on
Internship and job placement support are bundled into tuition rather than charged separately, so there is no career-services line item to discover later. The fees page shows what each year actually costs.
You earn while you build the CV
BHMS publishes CHF 2'390 per month gross for internships in Switzerland, before deductions. Across the bachelor the gross total exceeds CHF 43'000.
What you actually keep
Per the BHMS FAQ: around CHF 1'500 a month where accommodation and meals are provided, around CHF 800–1,000 a month in a big city without. Useful money, and useful experience — but it offsets the fees, it does not replace them.
Compare the postgraduate and MSc routes, which carry a different internship structure, on the programmes page. And if you are already thinking past the BA: BHMS offers one-year MSc programmes and an MBA, covered in full on Master's Degrees in Switzerland.

Questions
Straight answers
What percentage of BHMS graduates get jobs?
BHMS does not publish a graduate employment or placement rate, and this site will not invent one — its own internships page renders an unfilled placeholder where a figure would go. What BHMS does publish is verifiable and specific: three compulsory six-month internships, 18 months of paid industry experience before graduation, more than 40 employer logos on its internships page, a dual degree awarded with Robert Gordon University, and a QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 position of #12 worldwide in Hospitality & Leisure Management. Judge the school on those.
Which employers take BHMS students?
BHMS displays more than 40 employer logos on its internships page. The ones confirmed by name are Accor, Four Seasons, Hilton, Kempinski and Mandarin Oriental. BHMS does not publish a complete named partner list or an exact partner count, so those five are the only names this site claims — the real list is longer, but nobody outside BHMS can see all of it.
Is career and placement support charged as an extra?
No. Internship placement and job placement support are bundled into tuition rather than billed separately, so the fee you see on the fees page is the fee that includes career services. Check the year-by-year figures on the fees page before you budget.
Does the qualification count outside Switzerland?
That is what the dual award is for. The bachelor is awarded with Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen (UK), so you graduate with a UK degree alongside the Swiss qualification. BHMS also sits within the QAA (UK Quality Assurance Agency) framework and is recognised by the Institute of Hospitality, eduQua, the Swiss Federation of Private Schools, SQS Certification, AEHT and Eurhodip.
Do I need German to work in Switzerland?
For a Swiss placement it matters a great deal. BHMS states directly that placements inside Switzerland depend very much on your German, French or Italian language skills. Teaching is in English and you do not need German to enrol, but the language modules decide how wide your Swiss options are. Placements outside Switzerland are also available worldwide.
Can I take a side job to build extra experience while I study?
Not if you need a visa. BHMS states that students requiring a visa to study in Switzerland may not work outside the internships included in their programme. The internships are part of the programme, so they are permitted — but you cannot stack a part-time job on top of them.
