What we do with your information

Plain version: if you fill in a form here, your details go to BHMS admissions in Lucerne so someone can answer you. Nothing is sold.

Who this is

This site publishes information about the hotel and hospitality management programmes of BHMS Business & Hotel Management School, Guetschstrasse 2-6, 6003 Lucerne, Switzerland. Enquiries submitted here are handled by BHMS admissions.

What is collected

When you submit the application or fit-check form, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Your mobile number, if you choose to give one
• The programme you say you are interested in
• The answers you give in the fit-check questions — such as country and city, your role (student, parent, counsellor or agent), your school, graduation year, English level, intended start and how you found us
• The domain you submitted from, and a timestamp, so enquiries can be routed to the right team

The fit-check form saves your progress in your own browser's local storage so you can close the tab and resume. You can clear that at any time through your browser settings.

What is collected automatically

• Approximate country. When the form loads, it makes a request to a third-party lookup service to guess your country, purely so the phone field can pre-fill the right dialling code. You can overwrite it. No precise location is collected.
• Standard server logs. Our host records requests to the site, including IP address and browser type, as part of normal operation and abuse prevention.

Where it goes

• Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider's form service and forwarded by email to BHMS admissions.
• Enquiry details are also recorded in a BHMS-controlled spreadsheet used as a shared enquiry log across the BHMS programme sites, so that admissions can follow up without duplicate contact.
• If you choose to contact us via WhatsApp, that conversation is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy terms as well as this one.

Your details are used to answer your enquiry and to give you information about BHMS programmes. They are not sold, and they are not shared with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.

How long it is kept

Enquiry records are kept for as long as they are useful to the admissions process, and removed on request. If you would like your details deleted, email admission@bhms.ch and say so — you do not need to give a reason.

Your rights

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and withdraw your consent to being contacted. Email admission@bhms.ch. Withdrawing consent does not affect contact that already happened.

Children

These programmes are for applicants aged 17 and over. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this site — which pages are read, which links are clicked, and whether an enquiry was started. It helps us improve the site; it is not used for advertising. The data is processed for us by Google (Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC), which means it may be transferred to Google servers in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode, and what happens before you choose depends on where you are:

• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: no analytics cookies are set until you agree. Cookie storage is denied by default. Choose OK on the banner and the analytics cookies described below are set; choose No thanks and they never are.
• Elsewhere (for example the United States, Canada and Mexico, where prior consent is not required for basic analytics), analytics is on by default and the banner is an opt-out: choose No thanks and analytics cookies stop being written, starting with that page view, and the choice is remembered.

Full transparency on one technical point: the Google Analytics script itself loads in every region. When cookie storage is denied — before you choose, or after you refuse — it sends Google cookieless "consent mode" signals about the pages viewed. Those signals include the page address and, like any web request, technically reach Google from your IP address; they do not include analytics cookies or a persistent identifier, and Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Refusing consent therefore stops cookies and identifiers — it does not stop these basic, cookieless signals.

The cookies, when you allow them: _ga and _ga_*, which hold a random per-browser identifier and expire after about 13 months. Your banner choice is remembered in your browser, applies to this site on every later visit, and can be reset at any time through your browser's site-data settings. Your choice applies to this site only — the sister sites below ask you separately.

We do not sell or share analytics data, and advertising and personalisation signals stay switched off worldwide. The same Google Analytics property is used across this site, culinarystudyabroad.com and summercampswitzerland.com, so a visit that moves between them can be counted once rather than twice.

Separately from analytics, the fit-check form uses your browser's local storage to remember your own answers so you can close the tab and resume. That is not a tracking cookie and is not shared with anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
